CELL GROUPS TRAINING WORKSHOP

Purpose of Cell Groups:
To increase the intimacy in Christ through the meetings of a few of people

Goal of Cell Groups:
The team can grow and outreach in the truth of Christ.

Function of Cell Groups:
To know, care and challenge each other in daily life and spiritual needs; more practice the received teaching than care, teach, worship or share the gospel

Implementation of Cell Groups:
    1. The leader should summon the teammates for a cell group.
    2. The leader should coordinate with the teammates to take turn in charge of the meeting place and meeting itself.
    3. The church will offer necessary training regarding the cell group implementation.

Meeting Format of Cell Groups:
Refreshment, meal, picnic, chatting, singing, prayer and intercession, Bible study, topical seminar or discussion, visitation, evangelism (or sharing the gospel), planning of group ministry

Development of Cell Groups:
    1. First chatting and sharing (or testimony), then add prayer, then Bible study, then invitation of new friends, then participation of church ministries
    2. Sharing, prayer, edification, ministry, invitation, fellowship

Leader of a Cell Group:
    1. {Qualification}: a Christian, a member of our church (committed to the ministry of our church), having sound knowledge of elementary doctrine (e.g. salvation, and sanctification), zealous to serve
    2. {Motion}: moved by a pastoral leader, the current leader, or the majority of teammates

Grouping of Cell Groups:
    1. According to region, age, family, career, needs, or gender; the size is 5-12 people, no exceeding 18 people.
    2. Each cell group should have its own vision, and avoid stealing people from other cell group.
    3. Teammates choose a cell group according to their needs and burden. They may join more than one cell group, but they should stick to the groups they have chosen, and should not be absent from any meeting of the joined groups.

How to start of the meeting of a Cell Group:
    1. Arrange the theme and activities of the cell group
    2. Arrange the weekly moderators. Perhaps different people are in charge of singing, Bible study, refreshment, and caring
    3. Arrange the meeting place, or someone to open his/her house
    4. Procedure of a meeting: chatting, opening prayer, sharing and testimony, singing, Bible study, cloing prayer, refreshment

How to share:
    1. Get the basic information: name, address, phone number, e-mail address, appearance, family, interest, salvation, devotion, growth, ministry, blessings
    2. Change the topic: personal to family, professional to church, needs to giving, learning to guiding, salvation to ministry

How to Lead the Prayer:
    1. Prayer is: talk to God, commit totally, submit to teaching
    2. Confession, renewal, praise, commitment, intercession; for individual, friends, salvation, growth, church, community, country
    3. Pray at the same time, in turn, or by some persons
    4. In corporate prayer Individual prays short and less items.

How to Lead the Bible Study:
    1. Regular devotion, reading the Bible, prayer and reflection; pray for the divine guidance before Bible study
    2. {Preparation-- text}: use the commentary, read the text ten times, mark the key items, find out the scenario, make the outline
    3. {Preparation-- message}: clarify the message (truth, principle, warning), find out the life-relevant needs, illustration, questions and applications
    4. {Lead the Bible study}: prepare more, unnecessary to present all, hint less, discuss more, judge less, share more, answer briefly

How to Do Nursery: (Not sit and watch, but lead them to do things)
    1. {Baby cries}: wet diaper, hungry, tired, uncomfortable; smile, hold, pat, sing, walk
    2. {Children}: watch video, tale story, craft, restroom
    3. {Youth}: Bible study, testimony, free hour
    4. {Something else}: singing, action singing, games, desert; avoid breaking the furniture, return everything back to the original place

How to Share the Gospel:
    1. {Preparation}: prayer (personal preparation, salvation of the prospects), reading the Bible (personal equipment), caring the life, caring the spiritual life
    2. {Contact}: invitation (meal, meeting), witness (salvation, individual, church), Bible study (knowing Jesus)
    3. {Edification}: follow-up, prayer, fellowship, Bible study, witness, service

Open Our Houses for Meeting:
    1. Try to open our own houses to be used by the Lord; Home makes it easy for people to build a close relationship
    2. Arrange people to do nursery; cherish and learn how to cherish the stuff of others

  • Friday Fellowship Night will be moderated by Brother Tom Hsu since October. There will be two meetings per month.
  • The meeting format of Friday Fellowship Night will change to the seminar format. Everyone is welcome to join the discussion and exchange ideas.
